Life is an incredibly evolving thing. Watching my son grow by leaps and bounds, physically, mentally, and spiritually is an unspeakable testament to the miracle of Life and the Divinity of Nature. At four months of age, Rhythm has already doubled his birth-weight, and reached a whopping 25 1/2 inches in length. He sees and hears both near and far, and he is getting good with his hands. He'll be crawling in no time... he's practically doing it now. What he does now is an "inch-worm" maneuver, digging his toes into the ground, and pushing himself forward on face or chest with the force of his thrusting legs.
Also, I've added another photo gallery to serve as my beginner's portfolio for my "artistic" photography. I'll be adding more as soon as I've got time to take more and format them.
That's all for now, stay tuned for more... and yes... there will be more music up here, one day. Thanks for keeping hope alive!

Yeah... so, it looks like the going rate for updates is over a year. I swear, I'll try to get more of these out... but history suggests that's unlikely. At least I have a lot of news to report.
For those who don't know I have two reasonably huge items to report.
1. I have been blessed with a once in a lifetime Love and have whole-heartedly committed myself to her. Camille and I united in matrimony subsequent to an amazing friendship and romance. If you haven't heard the story yet, you should ask me. Its a good one, if I do say so myself.

2. Camille and I have also embraced the miraculous spiral of Life and received the glowing birth of our son Rhythm Xavier Parker. On this topic I'd like to express my undying gratitude to my beautiful wife Camille for her unyielding commitment to the healthy and natural birth and life of our son, Rhythm. I couldn't hope to put into words what I went through during Camille's labor... let alone understand what an unparalleled experience - no, I'll say stellar achievement - it was for my wife to endure the 37 hours of delivery without any medications or pain-killers. I can honestly say that I've never seen such an amazing feat of loving, persevering commitment - nor do I expect to ever again. Camille, thank you for our son. His brilliance is surely the result of all your care.
Here's Rhythm Xavier Parker at 9 days old:

Here's a picture of Rhythm at 15 days old.

And this photo of Camille and Rhythm X. was made this morning (3 months 12 days) .... could it be any harder to leave for work?

Now, what else? Professionally, I've switched it up a bit the least couple of years... I've joined an elite team in M-Audio's SynchroScience Design Group. As a result I've consulted on, and contributed to, many new products. The center of our efforts lies in the Torq application. I believe I speak objectively when I say it has already begun to impact the DJ culture in an impressive way. And it is a nice bit of exposure to have been included in the box artwork for the number of units being shipped worldwide. Thanks M-Audio!!!
The products we've released thus far:
- X Session Pro w/ Torq LE
- Torq w/ Conectiv Vinyl / CD Bundle
- Torq w/ XPonent
This position has been a great experience, and has allowed me to work with some incredible DJ talent - including the turntablists DJ Revolution and Johnny Juice, and house music power houses DJ Collette and Raul Campos.
Let us not forget the great fun I had with Taylor McFerrin at NAMM this year, he's an incredible improv talent - the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, as promised. Hot modern urban jazz funk, at least, that's what I'd call him.
AND as if that weren't enough, my exquisite cheerleading skills are being applied for the sake of the next generation of party people that will get their dirty mitts on the volume knobs... check out an up and coming powerhouse of production fury with a heart of gold: my man Nate Bosley producing a wicked hit for the young talented Lucas Grabeel. Check it on iTunes HERE. Who knows... if I can sit awhile longer in the studio, maybe you'll even hear a DSAI remix of this little jammy.
Wow... I have more to say, but no more time to say it. Catch you in another year and something....

Imagine that... still slacking on the website updates. Well, life happens and sometimes there's more to do, than there is time to do it. For instance, d.s.a.i. is happy to announce another fine product of the Incubator: Desert Sol & Eve Falcon's "Know it All" is now available via Internet music distrubotors worldwide. Additionally, the 12" vinyl release should be in stores Stateside by this weekend, roughly July 1st. Here's the announcement posted on http://www.MySpace.com/desertsol -
That's right.
RIGHT NOW!!!! you can head over to www.Beatport.com and locate, download and purchase all the remixes and the original version of this smash hit: KNOW IT ALL.
Desert Sol and Eve Falcon collaborate on this moody, original, progressive cut, which was then sliced, diced, chopped up and spit back via the remix talents of: Kilo Watts, Mike Hiratzka, and Deeptone vs Slighter.
The advance of this release has been toted by the likes of Sasha, D:Fuse, and Slacker, to name a few. It has also seen rotation on multiple XM shows including The People's Mix and Deepsky's Fundamental, as well as garnering chart position on Release Records weekly Chart in May!
This release showcases Eve Falcon's vocal prowess and lyrical abilities to infect your heart and soul, while bringing the depth of Desert Sol's (Shawn Parker) composition, production, programming, and guitar skills to previously unseen heights to represent D.S.A.I. on this INTERNAIONAL release.
This is the FULL SINGLE RELEASE of KNOW IT ALL with accompanying remixes. ALL VERSIONS ARE PREVIOUSLY UNRELEASED!!!
For the VINYL junkies out there, the 12" will be in stores by July 4th weekend on CYBER RECORDS out of the Netherlands!!!! Official Cyber release date is June 19, 2006.

Well, yes, we've been slacking on the website updates. Please, don't take it personally! We were so busy making things happen that there was no time to update this page! Of course for those who are subscribed to the newsletter, were still in the loop. So, if you haven't signed up, get with the program!
Where to begin? Well, just released is the new single from Kelly Osbourne -"One Word" and in the fine print you'll find Shawn Parker's first major market release credit in engineering. Special thanks to the talented Mr. Burgdorf and empire7 for including Shawn's skills on this project! The full length album is coming soon, and you'll find Shawn creditted for the enitre CD. The CD is a great pop album, and if you are into pop music with an 80's kinda vibe, you will be quite happy with this one. Linda Perry's production for the CD is quite good and empire7 provided excellent mixing, editing and engineering of the record. It was a lot of hard work, but well worth the effort.
Also, Desert Sol joined forces with Ryebot (Red G.) to bang out a spec remix for Sunshine, an edgy electro/punk band from the Czech Republic, which has been received as a top notch remix for the dance market. The original mix of "Victim is Another Name for Lover" can be heard on Sunshine's MySpace.com page. Unfortunately, there is no release date set for the 12" release at this time. We'll keep you posted.
Wow! Is there more?! YES!
Shawn also found time to master the latest EP from Girls In a Coma's. GIAC's EP was recorded and produced in London, Eng. by Boz Boorer. Thanks to Royal Sinners for requesting Shawn's services on this project! We enjoyed the album very much, and we know these girls are HOT and definitely one to watch in the future!
And yes, there is more... but it is such excellent news that it deserves its own entry... so, check tomorrow's entry for more hot juicy details on the HUGE progress D.S.A.I. is making in the world of aural delights!

Stronger promotional efforts will be going into effect within the next days to gear up the audience for Shawn's September 20th appearance at The Mor in Santa Monica. Shawn will be playing with his good friend Jason Blum of Deepsky for Mekka's Monday night party: Moonrise. This night will be an excellent opportunity to hear the uplifting sounds and tribal rhythms of DSAI in full effect.

Shawn Parker spins at the BPM Magazine party celebrating the release of "Upstairs at Larry's." Also performing: Photek, Collette, Eve Falcon, & The Groove Junkies. The CD contains many great remixes including a mix by Joy & the Spider and The Boston Tea Party.

After returning to Los Angeles in July, Shawn began a working relationship with Empire7 a leading production studio master-minded by Bernd Burgdorf. This relationship sparks of creativity and drive. This relationship will also encourage the growth and expansion of Empire7 and increase the profile of DSAI and it's projects.

Shawn Parker aka Desert Sol will be travelling back to New Mexico for another exciting dj performance at Boom Box II: The Jerks Strike Back on July 10. Shawn will be joining several of the NM scene originals behind the decks for a night of outstanding music and celebration. This is definitely not to be missed!
Shawn will also be hosting Audio Incubations on the road from New Mexico on July 8th on Desert FM. Tune in for a special live set from New Mexico! Shawn is likely to be joined by some outstanding talent from New Mexico... Don't miss out!

Shawn Parker hosts Audio Incubations, the DSAI weekly broadcast on Desert FM with a very special guest dj appearance from Eve Falcon! Tune in 7-9pm Pacific Time!

Happy Memorial Day! Our time was spent enjoying friends and celebrating birthdays this weekend. We enjoyed a boat party featuring a rocking DJ set from Deepsky and some fun clubbin' around L.A. Hopefully, you enjoyed your holiday weekend, too.
Also, added to Shawn's upcoming New Mexico tour is another date. The event is "ReUnite" @ Rebar in Albuquerque on Wednesday June 9. Shawn is headlining the event at the request of evening's host, dj Collin Couch. The two will be joined by NM favorite: Donovan. Check out the details.

Last night Shawn Parker's live broadcast of "Audio Incubations" was a huge success! D.S.A.I. extends thanks to all who tuned in and supported the show! Feedback has been overwhelmingly. Also, the show set the record for most simultaneous users on Desert FM! This new Internet radio station is showing a lot of promise as a grass-roots endeavor to promote underground electronic music and culture. Don't sleep on this project!
Anticipation for next weeks broadcast of "Audio Incubations" is building as Shawn will be welcoming a special guest and long time friend: Donovan of ConstantMusic. In many circles it is known that these two have quite a history, and when they throw down together on the decks they leave their audience breathless.
